Augsburg Greeter

Greeter – Friends you did not know

Augsburg Greeters are your friends in Augsburg who you haven’t met yet!

But be careful: Greeters are not tour guides but simply “friends in town”. So… there are no maps, no book guides, open your eyes and just immerse yourself in our daily lives: …thanks to Augsburg greeters you will feel like a real Augsburger for a few hours. Send us your request now.

Like many other Greeter destinations we are a non-profit project within the International Greeter Association.

What Greeters are?

Greeters welcome guests and take them on individual Greets through the city – without charge. We love our hometown and like to give you an insight into our personal lives in Augsburg. That is why accompany you through our town – entirely free of charge, as is customary among friends. You will experience very personal and individual walkabouts and you will hear about our workaday lives.

A complete sightseeing-tour to tourist-attractions is not what we provide, but we can tell you where you can get it.

Augsburg – Always worth a visit

Augsburg is often called “the northernmost city in Italy”: the old town with its buildings and cafes spreads Mediterranean flair – it invites you to stroll and relax.

A walk through our city is like traveling back in time: excavations from Roman times, fountains and canals from the “historical water management”, town houses and craftsmen’s buildings from the Middle Ages, historical factory buildings, the redesign of the city after World War II and current concepts of urban planning and urban development.

We show our guests interesting places and tell stories that are not necessarily found in every travel guide.

Münchner in Bremen

Berlin Greeter

Spent a wonderful day with my lovely Berlin Greeter Lisa walking around Friedrichshain. She provided lots of great insights on Berlin, its history and the area and what it’s like to live in such a beautiful city and was great company. This was the second time I used the Greeter Organisation (first time in Belgrade) and both have been very memorable experiences. Highly recommend.
